To do the big "tricks" well, you really should learn the basic steps to get there (and for your safety). Your lessons will be structured so everything will relate to the next thing you learn - eventually you will get to the "tricks". It's kinda like doing math . . . if you don't know basic math, you can't really jump to algebra.

Oceanside in AZ? No, I'm in CA. But anywhere you can go to ice skate is cool in my book - wink! Have fun skating!|||I go to Polar Ice in Peoria, but the rinks are both Skating Club Of Phoenix! Figure Skating is hard, and challenging but thats why when you achieve something you feel great! I would sudgest starting with learn to skate group lessons until you are about the level No Test or Pre Preliminary.

later- try doing spilt, have more nenrgy backwards n stuff|||well ice skating is pretty hard, but now every time i go to my lessons, i just start gliding on the ice to the other side of the rink to my coach like right away, cuz i know that if i keep hanging on to the wall till i can skate alone that will just take me 4ever!! i have my own pretty skates now so its cool! i ove ice skating!! its really unique!! :) ;) :D i go to the roseville skatetown ice arena. its really nice and cool and big and new there!!! heres some cool ice skating links/videos!!

http://youtube.com/watch?v=wBvadb4K6WU|||I would suggest wearing good clothing like gloves, a t shirt, jacket, thin nylon or polyester socks, and stretchy exercise type pants (not jeans). Try marching on the ice, and make sure that you have your arms out for balance. Just practice and have fun on the ice. If you have signed up for lessons they will teach you how to skate and eventually how to do "tricks" on the ice. Figure skating certainly isn't easy, but it isn't super hard either, it is just a skill that you learn and the more you practice the better you get. Good luck and have fun!|||Um...well are you a beginner? If you are, you might want to think about two-foot spins, skating backwards and crossovers. If your i the middle, then you could try a waltz jump, lunge, or a scratch spin. It doesn't sound like your that advanced, but you could look up things on google. Go to youtube for videos.

Okay well try going backwards then turn to go forwards
Try doing crossovers by skating in a big circle, then lifting your outside foot and try to put it over your inside foot so thats crossovers.
Also an easy move is a single spin: just stand on the ice, put your arms into pirhouette position and and twist your body so you turn, It looks very hard but it is easy and eventually you will be able to do two spins, three spins and one foot spins.
