Whats the difference between figure skating and synchronized skating?

Okay, so I really wanted to join a syncronized skating club (ice skating) but its too far away from where I live and it starts too early.. so i checked the only other ice rink near me but it doesnt have synchronized skating its just got figure skating.. I was wondering what exactly the difference was?

Thanks in advance! x|||Synchronized skating is a team sport where the skaters perform routines to music all at once.

Figure skating at your rink is probably singles skating, where you would learn jumps, spins, and moves.

If you are just starting out in skating, go with group lessons until you can do some basic spins and jumps. By that time, the closer rink might have a synchronized skating team or they might do a group performance (similar, not the same) at a show, which is a lot of fun.

Good luck|||Syncronized skating is where a group of ice dancers dance all at the same time doing the exact same thing, here's a link showing you.

and figure skating is when you dance individually here's a link of me figure skating.

hope I helped, and if I was you I would do the figure skating as single and you can work at your own pace as if you do synchronized you have to work at everyone else's pace and you might get it wrong!

GooooodLuuuccckk%26lt;3|||Synchronized skating is when a group of skaters skate, well, synchronized.

Figure skating has alot more technical moves like jumps and spins and is done in singles or pairs.|||The main difference is that synchronized is two people and figure skating can be one or two.
