Figure skating?

next year as i would have left my high school ( england) i have been asked to come back and perform my ice skating for there gym and dance show which they have every year .

only one problem they don't have an ice rink they have wood flooring , can you ice skate on it , i know it would make marks but apart from that can you ice skate on it?

Thanks in advance|||I wouldn't think that you could ice skate on a wood floor. However, they make "artistic" in-line roller skates that would enable you to do the same elements that you do on ice skates - only you wouldn't need the ice! I'm not talking about "roller blades" or your typical in-line skates. You can look at www.skatelog.com to find out more about the artistic in-line skates - if that could be an option for you.

GOOD LUCK!|||No you would not be able to slide.|||why dont u jst use roller skates/rollerblades on it|||wait, im a little confused. You say your a figure skater and your wondering if you could ICE skate on WOOD. you would not be able to glide because of the whole no ice thing. sorry to sound mean but im just really confused. I suppose you could do a jump but you could do that in normal shoes. Going on wood in ice skates would totally ruin the blade too.

There are sorts of roller skates that work for figure skating so you could try that.|||Wood flooring is for artistic roller skating. I used to do it when I was a kid and go to different competitions and such. It's the same concept as figure skating on ice. It's very difficult to switch from ice to roller. The jumps are different as well as the edges you skate on. Performing in ice skates on a wood floor is impossible, and you also don't have enough training or time to train for a roller skating performance. I would pass on this one.
