Figure Skating ???

Can anyone give me hints or tips on figure skating

im a biginner-intermediate skater|||well, since i dont really know what you're working on or what level you are, i'll just give some general advice.

first of all, you should ALMOST always point your toes. for example, when stroking, or spirals, or landing positions, etc... flexing your toes on those look ugly. xP but if your coach or something tells you to flex your toes, then listen to her/him.

secondly, always look up! that way you look more confident and like you know what you're doing (even if you're not!) for example, if you're taking a test, and you look more confident, but your elements may not be very good, judges will look at how you present to determine part of your score. or like if you know all your elements really well, but you're looking down and not looking confident, judges might think you dont know what you're doing. you know what i mean? lol, kinda hard to explain..

thirdly, (this is really hard to explain. im really sorry if it doesnt make sense. :/) well you should always keep your body parts/weight balanced and aligned. for example, when you're doing a spin or something, and if you're spinning on your left foot, keep your weight on your left hip, cuz if your weight is on your right side, you wont be able to spin. also, if you're doing a jump, mainly axels and higher, if you jump on your left foot, but all your weight is on your right, you're probably gonna fall or seriously hurt yourself. once again, it probably doesnt make sense to you, and i apologize. basically whatever foot you're on, keep your weight on that side.

lastly, never give upppp! no matter how many times you fall, no matter how many bruises you get, no matter how many times you dont get first place, no matter how many times you fail a test, never give up! do you think michelle kwan passed every single test on the first try, or got first place on every single competition, or landed every single jump she attempted? NOOOO! she practiceddd! if you practice enough and are determined enough, im sure you'll do great.

best of luck to you and your skating%26lt;3
